The project is a collaborative effort between the architecture firm Sei Studio and ceramicist Antonia Bergþórsdóttir. Antonia specializes in Icelandic clay and is based in Berunes, Berufjörður. Recently, she has been working on establishing a base for the project in Höfn, Hornafjörður, with the goal of connecting with the community and involving locals in the development of a ceramics factory. She has been in contact and collaboration with designer and artist Hanna Dís Whitehead, as well as Ragnheiður Sigurðardóttir Bjarnason, who will provide the project with a workshop this winter, including access to a kiln. Antonia was also in touch with the Svararssafn museum earlier this summer. The project has received funding from Askur, Rannís, and Myndstef. The project is part of Austanátt, an 8-week growth incubator where innovators have the opportunity to connect with entrepreneurs in East Iceland and receive guidance from experienced experts.
